Asian-style wall art – perfect for enhancing and structuring outdoor spaces
Architects and landscape gardeners use wall-mounted trellises as works of art on façades, something that can also be achieved with the TORII Japanese Garden Trellis. This striking wrought-iron trellis can also give structure to spaces such as rock gardens and looks just as fitting in a tea garden as it does in a zen garden. The icing on the cake is that you don’t even have to grow anything up it if you don’t want to, as it looks fantastic without plants too.
The colours of Asian gardens
In Asian gardens, the colours red and green are important. Having a mishmash of different coloured flowers and plants, as is common in the West, is unheard of in Asian gardens. In Chinese and Japanese gardens, the focus is on different shades of green and the shape of the plants. Often, red and white elements are intentionally added to create contrast. Good choices for this are Japanese maple or rhododendrons – and, of course, the TORII Japanese Garden Trellis or the TORII Japanese Gate, both of which come as standard in red.
