Bust of Pericles – Buy original bronze replica
The bust of Pericles with Corinthian helmet is part of a statue of the Athenian statesman and military leader, of which four Roman marble copies from the imperial period have survived. These copies probably go back to a bronze statue of Kresilas that was erected on the Acropolis of Athens. The exact depiction of the statue is uncertain, as only a few details have survived.
Pericles is depicted as a mature man with a Corinthian helmet, symbolising his military function. The Berlin copy is particularly rich in detail, showing well-groomed temple hair, a full beard with tidy curls, wide eyelids and slightly parted lips. Pericles was identified by inscriptions on the busts in the Vatican Museums and the British Museum.

Description
Antique statue, cast bronze in museum quality
The sculpture is produced as a bronze casting using the traditional lost wax technique. The basis for the negative mould required for this is a (slightly supplemented) plaster cast of the original in Berlin.
Patinating the bust
Patination marks the final step in the finishing process of the bronze bust offered in our online shop. The patina simulates the natural oxidation process that causes the bronze to weather differently over time, depending on the environmental influences on the copper alloy. We have various patina recipes in our repertoire, including one that corresponds well to the patina of preserved antique bronze busts. We will be happy to provide you with samples of suitable patinas in advance.
Individualisation of the post-cast bust
Each bust cast by us is engraved in the base with a serial number, date of manufacture and our company logo. The base is engraved with your name, a lettering, the occasion of production, your own company logo or additional engraving as required.
