Knebworth House Metal Wall Trellis product details
The Knebworth House Metal Wall Trellis comes as standard in black matt. For an additional fee, you can also order it in another colour or a different size. To make the process of mounting the wall trellis as simple as possible, we provide the hooks you need to hang it on the façade. The only things you have to buy yourself are the fasteners and screws to secure the hooks. When correctly installed, there will be a 10-cm gap between the metal garden trellis and the wall.
Unusual garden trellis in neogothic style, ideal for greening façades
The inspiration for this elegant wall-mounted trellis was an English country estate in Hertfordshire called Knebworth House. The estate is built in the exotic neogothic style, which is echoed in the design of this wrought-iron trellis. The otherwise linear design of the metal wall trellis is broken up by a large circular element in the upper third of the structure. Four smaller circles – one in each corner – complete the design. When bedecked from top to bottom in flowers such as roses, clematis or black-eyes Susans, this wonderful outdoor wall trellis becomes a piece of floral art work. To green a larger façade, you could group a number of Knebworth House Metal Wall Trellises together.
Optimal conditions for both plants and façade
Using the hooks we provide, the metal garden trellis can be mounted to the wall in such a way that air can circulate freely between the trellis and the façade and water can easily drain away. This ensures that the plants do not damage the wall and creates the best possible growing conditions for the plants themselves.
Tips for growing roses on wrought-iron trellises
Climbing roses should always be planted at least 50 cm away from the metal garden trellis, with the roots pointing away from the structure. The rose stems need to be loosely and horizontally tied to the garden trellis from the front. In doing so, ensure that each stem has enough space to grow. The rose needs both light and air if it is to produce an abundance of flowers. If you follow these tips, climbing roses will quickly make their way up the wall trellis. With the right combination of plants, the Knebworth House Metal Wall Trellis will be covered in a sea of flowers all summer long. If you want your façade to be green all year round, then a good choice would be the evergreen ivy ‘Goldheart’. So long as you water it well throughout the year, its leaves will remain green and your façade will look as lush in December as it does in July.
