At the Rose Garden at l’Haÿ-les-Roses, near Paris, the art of cutting, training and tying the metre-long canes of numerous ‘Alexandre Girault’ rambler roses (Barbier,1908) has a long tradition. We are grateful to the Friends of the Rosarium (Les Amis de la Roseraie du Val-de-Marne à l’Haÿ-les-roses) for supplying the photograph.
